Inspirations, Inspirational Stories, Bible Study Guide by Kathryn L. Jackson, Flint, MI., from a layman's pen
About Kathryn L. Jackson

On her 89th Birthday

'Always a student, I turned to God's Word for fulfillment'

The Bible has been Kathryn's companion, comforter and teacher through most of her 94 years.

The Book helped her fill the void in her life when she retired after 27 years as a schoolteacher and when she lost her husband of 47 years and father of her two children.  It has helped her through two surgeries and treatment for cancer to checkups that have shown no recurrence.

"Being always a student, I turned to God's Word for fulfillment.  I studied it incessantly and began writing notes in the margins of my Bibles, references and cross-references, finally culminating in five years of notes in Bibles and notebooks - which turned into ideas.

"And the ideas took form.  These ideas represent years of careful reading and meditation and inspiration.

"Out of the richness of God's heart came the 'stories' or 'meditations' which I now offer to others, encouraging them to read God's Word for strength, knowledge, power, understanding and peace of mind.

"I know that Christ is alive, and that he answers earnest prayer.  And my experiences with God are real.  I continue to study and to write every day, 'from whence cometh my strength.'

"Not only can the Word of God heal, it feeds us.  Our eyes enter it into our bodies, and we consume it through our thoughts, and we are fed."
