Kathryn L. Jackson
10 / 2 / 1914  ~  1 / 9 / 2010

On October 2, Kathryn Celebrated Her 95th Birthday. On October 4,
she became ill and was hospitalized. She was released ten days later to
the care of Visiting Nurse Home Health Care services.

In late November she was again hospitalized for approximately ten days
and was then admitted to a Hospice facility where she was for
approximately two weeks before choosing to 'go home for Christmas'
under a Home Hospice program.

One January 9, 2010, Kathryn died in her home surrounded by family,
dedicated caregivers, and with her beloved cat Sheeba at her side.

Her last words written in her final (incomplete and unedited and therefore unpublished story) were:

Because God is satisfied with His children who are the Saved, He will live
forever with them in a new World which he will create new for them.

We All Witnessed Him Reach Down and Take Her Home.

Kathryn's burial service was held on January 13, 2010.  It was a typical Michigan January day. It was cold, it was windy, and they sky was totally overcast and solid gray.

The final prayers and goodbye took place inside a small but beautiful stone chapel at the cemetery.  It featured small stained glass windows at both ends, high in the peaks of its vaulted ceiling.

As the minister began his final words of prayer a shaft of incredibly brilliant light burst through the western window and shown directly on her casket - and only on her casket.

The light was so intense and so focused on her - and her alone - that those in attendance began to quietly nudge and gently elbow each other to make certain others were seeing the same thing happen.  Yes, we were all seeing it ... in amazement.

A few moments later the minister said the final "Amen", and at that very moment the shaft of light disappeared.

It was clear to all of us that we had just witnessed the hand of God reaching down and taking her home.
